I installed Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (10.50.1600.1 RTM Enterprise Edition 64-bit) on Window Server 2008 Enterprise 64-bit.
Can anyone help and advise for any service packs that I can apply to?
I tried to download Microsoft SQL Server 2008 service pack 1 and applied.
However, I got the error "There are no SQL Server instance or share features that can be updated on this computer".
Futher my search, I found out that "Make sure you are not trying to install SP1 onto a an unsupported version as in this case where SQL 2008 SP1 was being attempted to be applied on SQL 2008 R2.".
Thanks,
Edwin

SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 R2 are different versions of SQL Server in the "proper" sense, despite the similar names. Therefore SP1 for SQL Server 2008 (non-R2) cannot be applied to a SQL Server 2008 R2 instance.

AFAIK - There is no SP for R2 yet.
