It is a long story but I've lost sql server 2003 workgroup edition off my server and cant reinstall because I dont have disks or key of the disk. So I cant reinstall.
I've got a number of sql server databases that I need to get access to but when I download the free sql server edition from the internet it complains. I'll have to try it again to get the exact error message.
Is there another option of how to access the database?

You mean SQL 2005? (no such version as SQL 2003)
Where did you buy it through? Sometimes you can call and ask for replacement disks.

Complains is a little vague. Why haven't you tried to get the replacement disk as suggested?
