Hi all,
one of our sqlserver 2005 Dev server 5 named instances+one default instance are present on windows server 2008 Enterpice Edition O/s .
we are unable to open the local SQLsever 2005 manhagement studio screen.
i can able to connect form remote Management studio from n/w server.
Please help to enable or install SSMS screen.

Go to Start->Run-> Type 'sqlwb'
See if you get anything.

Do you receive any type of message when you try to access the SSMS?

sqlwb throwing error
windows cannot find 'sqlwb' make sure you typed the name correctly

Is it possible to reinstall again as it is a dev server.

Can you look in the following location for any executables?
\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\Binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE

Well...you need to use sqlwb.exe in the run prompt and see if that helps and please post the exact error you are getting when you try to connect

Looks as if ssms not installed properly.
Reinstall it.
