BACK UP LOG SHIP

  • hi all,

    i have db in stand by for logship use.

    i want to back up this db and restore it to anthoer db for testim use.

    but it is impossbile to back up db in this state-

    ani idea how to do this?

    Backup up the primary DB.then restore it

    this is alot of data crossing 2 server that far away from each other

    i dont want to do backup and restore all the time....

    in log shipping the data is there i just need to find way to back up him......

    Have you actually tried googling the issue yet? Backing up a standy server has actually been discussed in great detail elsewhere.

    EDIT: Another option is to take it out of standby and then back it up. Then restore the log shipping database and start log shipping again.
