Hi,
I have SQL Server 2008 Standard and Upgrading to R2 messed up everything. Now I would like to Uninstall SQL Serevr 2008 Standard and install a fresh copy of SQL 2008 R2. Now before I uninstall SQL Serevr Standard I would like to detach all the databases first and then Uninstall and after that Install the fresh copy of SQLServer 2008 R2. Once installed a fresh copy I will attach all the databases back to the SQLServer. Or does anyone suggests backup and then restore. But I think Backup and restores is time consuming. And also if someone have some documentation of uninstalling SQL Server 2008 Standard from the system please let me know.
So does this plan sounds right or not. Please comment.
Thank you all in advance.

I have only one advice, make sure to take a back up and copy it into a share before you do anything. There are always "What If" scenarios.
If I was in your place, I would always wipe the server clean and restart again. I hate uninstalling one product and installing another one.
