Crystal report mystery???

  • We've been running a Crystal report for years. It has been quite reliable until recently.

2 key fields that used to appear on the report are missing. We use 3 SQl tables for the report and each one has a single row of data. One of the data elements is present in one of the tables but no longer appear in a grid that was designed for the report.

The second field is not present in any of the tables. I thought it might be a formula but that is not so.

We use version 7 of Crystal Reports. Please don't laugh. I am not an expert in Crystal so any hints on how to display the fields in the grid or find the missing field would be appreciated. You would have my gratitude.

  • I would first look at how the tables are joined (if they are). If so, make sure that a key hasn't been broken somehow. Whatever Crystal is trying to do, make it happen in SQL (assuming you have access).

  • Thanks. The user needed training. She was running the wrong report. I think I found those demons of stupidity!

  • Well, at least you found the solution. 'Hope you can upgrade Crystal soon. 😉
