i had sql server agent job scheduled on sql server 2008r2 enterprise. We had configured database mail and
mail profile was enabled in sql server agent too. Usually we r getting notified through emails when job fails.
But today i did not get email when job fails. What is the reason for not getting only today.
In the view history of the job it says mail was sent.

The mail being sent just means it was put on the queue. Have you checked the db-mail error log? Also have you checked your Exchange server to see if the e-mail went through. There are a lot of places along the way where the e-mail can fail. I've even found my e-mails in the Junk folder occasionally when Exchange desides that's where it belongs.
Have you subsequently sent a test e-mail to check that e-mails are now getting through?
