Has anybody tried changinging sql2005 edition in clustered environment? Non clustered case is straight forward. If I remamber correctly that proccess messes with resource and msdb databases, installs some components and downgrades level to RTM. Is edition chage cluster-aware? Unfortunatly I don't have enough resources to setup VMs and check.
I've been looking for answere for a few days with no success.
Many thanks!

I'm trying to find a source linkt to give you but I am sure that in 2005 you can only Cluster Enterprise edition.
When you say 'edition' what do you mean? What is your OS and what are you trying to move to?

Standard Edition can be clustered - we have many instances of it where I work. As for changing the edition, I don't know. Why can't it be done the same as for any other instance?

I think I can be done (installer by definition is cluster-aware and able of installing components on both nodes + upgrading system databases), but have never tried. That's why I asked.
