Hello All,
On SQL Server 2008 R2 while running Database tuning advisor i am getting below error
"Error: Exception encountered[DTAEngine]" in the consuming workload tab in the progress window.
Please find attached snapshot of error also.
Its urgent pls let me know how to fix this issue.[

We can't see the image you posted. You can upload it as an attachement.
Back to the problem at hand. Unless you are very experience with index tuning I'd strongly recommend against DTA. I usually refuse 90%+ of the recommendations and then merge / tweak the rest. Unless and untill you feel confortable doing that I'd go another route.
Here's an amazing article on perf tuning that should get you on your way along with the best book and execution plan analysis out there :

I agree. The DTA is a very dangerous tool and it's suggestions can be problematic, in the extreme. After reading Gail's articles, get a copy of my book. It'll take you farther down the road on tuning.

Ha! I didn't even notice that. It was the other book I meant anyway. Query tuning has more about indexes than the exec plan one.

I get the Exception unless I choose a subset of the tables in the database.
See if that works for you.
