I am currently on SP3 and was wondering if I can update server with SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 4 KB2494120 without any other updates. How do I determine if this is a cumulative patch? Any assistance would be appreciated.
P.S. I am also in a clustered environment

Thank you Adam - I appreciate the link it was helpful. I need to figure out whether this patch is cumulative since I didnt previously install SP4 I would be installing a SP4 patch on a server that is at SP3 currently. Thanks for your patience with my questions.

To the best of my knowledge a Service Pack (SP) will always include all updates (major and critical) that have come before. You dont need to go bit-by-bit through the KB's.
Thats said there are 'optionals' which are need specific that i dont think are included.

I also think all Service Packs include all updates, but just to be sure I give the right suggestion I checked on the Microsoft site.

Thanks for all the help - the advice and links were helpful - I did the SP4 install followed by the hotfix and it worked great.
