Certifications For DBA

  • Hello Folks,

    I need your suggestion..

I am currently working as a sql DBA and Reporting Analyst. I have all microsoft certifications related to Sql Server like MCITP Development, administration, BI development.I want to do some more certifications. What certifications and additional knowledge are helpful for a sql DBA ? I know some people say certifications are not imporatant but that is the first step to learn any new technology to me, that is how i start. Some of the certifications i am thinking are as below. But not sure which one is hot in market and adding which skills will lead me to better job with better salary. I won't hesitate to change my field if i can get a better job :).

I want to choose only two out of following or may be something not mentioned here...

    SharePoint Administrator 2010

Windows Server 2008 R2, Virtualization Administrator

    Microsoft Lync Server 2010, Administrator

    Windows Azure Developer

    Lync Server 2010 Administrator

    Enterprise Messaging Administrator 2010

    Windows Server Administrator

  • Honestly, if what matters is how they affect salary/hirability, I recommend checking with your employer's HR people about raises associated with certification or other continuing education efforts. Hirability, I'd ask recruiters about. They'll know the most on those subjects.
