Hello,
We installed sql server 2008 R1 recently not realizing we needed an R2 installation, instead. So, we are gearing up to uninstall it using the Add/Remove programs as usual. We have seen many blogs where others have run into partial un-installs and errors and want to avoid the pain. Some folks have even had to re-install the OS.
Has anyone successfully un-installed Sql Server 2008 R1 from a server, and, if so, how was it done?
Thanks!

yep, through add\remove programs. No problems encountered, and this included database engine, SSIS, SSRS and SSAS.
no special preparation or tricks used.
