I need to mirror production databases,can some one provide me some recomendations for that?
1. When I sat up this is this going to slow down production enviroment?
2. when server goes down does it switching automatically (it is share point databases)
3.When server comes back does mirror server comes back automatically?
4.How backups/transaction jobs works when server is down?

Like with a lot of things - it depends. You can do synchronous or asynchronous mirroring which might have varying impacts. It is a case of test-test-test.
2. when server goes down does it switching automatically (it is share point databases)
If you have a witness server - yes.
3.When server comes back does mirror server comes back automatically?
No, you'll have to manually rest it
4.How backups/transaction jobs works when server is down?
You'll have to enable them on the mirror server.
