Master Data Services Complicated Business Rules

    We are investigating the use of Master Data Services at my company. One of the stumbling blocks I've run into is in the Business Rules. We have some very complicated validation that needs to take place based on the value of an attribute. Specifically we need to do a combination of some and/or all of the following: regular expression matching, length of data, select multiple substrings of value, etc., on a single attribute. (Currently we have a stored proc with approximately 150 lines of codes that does the validation.)

    I couldn't find any way to do this in the business rules. Has anybody else out there been able to do these things? I've searched and haven't found a whole lot of advanced topics on MDS yet, just basic stuff.

    Hi Angela

    It seems i am traveling down the same road as you did,

    I am investigating an enterprise solution for data validation

    currently looking at MDS 2012,

    Did you ever manage to find a solution for this either using MDS

    or some other commercially available tool ?

    The business rules exposed by the UI are pretty limited. I think WYSIWYG here. The only way to accomplish something more complicated than the stock conditions and actions would be to extend MDS, if that's even possible. I have yet to find any information saying it is.
