Hi,
how many values can i display in a parameter?
i am having a prob,i am selecting 2000 values in the parameter list but those values are not displaying but when i select around 100 it is diaplying all those 100 values.
Is there any limitation in displaying bigger values in parameter?
thanks in advance!

No.
My dear friend, there is no practical limit on the number of values that a parameter can show in SSRS. I have personally tested for more than 15000.
Though, I would seriously wonder the usefulness of such a report showing such large values.
Note however, that a parameter shows values exactly as per its feed(or source), if you have selected a SQL Query, try running that alone and see how many records it return. Same as that visible in drop down?
Other thing you can check is whether this parameter(say P1) depends on other parameter(say P0) as well? If that is the case, then you need to see if that is the reason that any particular value(default value set) for P0 is binding P2 to show fewer records than you expected?
if you are using Datasource for parameter as a Dataset, then again same check - try running that query in SSMS and see no of records returned.
Returning back to question - There is no practical limit for number of values in parameter drop down.

Small correction - Read P2 above as P1.
Sincere apologies.

Great info!
ya i checked the values, all the values will be selected in the query and i could see records for all the values. But prob is only displaying those parameters in the parameter list!
i think there might be limitation in the size of that parameter bcos in our case the names we are displaying is of size around 80-90 characters ( each and every name) when i tried restricting the names to 20characters by doing sub string(1,20) it showed all the names in the parameter list.
even i do wonder how could user check all those 2000 values and select a particular value from that 🙂
