Hi,
I have logshipping set up on an SQL 2000 dataabse and it has failed and got out of sync, so need to set it back up.
I am trying to remove the setup and delete the maintenance but when I click on the Log Shipping tab I recieve the following error.
"The Server must be registered in order to perform this operation. Register Server?"
If I click yes and try to register the server I get this error:
"A server of this name already exists."
So my question is how can I remove log shipping? I am unable to delete the plan because log shipping is enabled and I'm unable to remove log shipping because of the above errors.
Any suggestions is appreciated.
Thnaks,
Russell

I've sorted it now. All I had to do was delete and re-register the server in Enterprise Manager.
I blame it on lack of sleep 😛

Are you working directly on the server that you're trying to remove log shipping from? If so, do you have the SQL server registered as <local>, etc. rather than by name? Try removing the locally registered server, then readd using its name... try removing log shipping again
