Hi,
I have installed a fresh cluster of 2008 sql server,Active/ Passive on node A and B.
When Cluster is on A and the Sql Server B's Services are showing Stop yet I am able to Connect to Sql Cluster from management studio when I am on B.
When Cluster is on B then from A, I am able to connect to Cluster.
In 2005 it doesn't happen.
Please Clarify...:w00t:
Thanks

Of course you will be. That's the point of a cluster (and 2005 behaves the same way). Connect to the cluster's virtual name and you can connect from anywhere on the network to the cluster regardless of which node is active.
If you can't, then either there's a serious configuration problem or you're trying to connect to the node name rather than the cluster's virtual name.

Hi Gila,
I feel good that u have answered on my post after long time.
I was in thinking that during installation I have only leave the check of Reporting,Analysis and Integration means clients tools are also installed.
Q. I have a fear if any body is accessing the SQL Server from Primary server and at the same time from secondary server. Then any problem?
Thanks

Ignoring that workstation tools belong on workstations, why do you think that having them there is going to be a problem?
Remember with a cluster you connect to the virtual name, controlled by cluster admin, so it's totally, completely, 100% irrelevant where you're connecting from, and the cluster software hides which node is active(again, the whole point of a cluster)
