Permission to START & STOP SQL Service

    Hi Experts,

    I Have SA rights in a remote server(windows as wellas SQL Authentication) ..But I am not able to start or stop the server when i connect to that server from SSMS.

    What are the permissions required to start and stop remote SQL Server from SSMS?

    Hi,

    Generally with SA rights u can start or stop the services of a server. Send the error what u r getting.

    No errors...The option cant be used in SSMS its greyed out

    Just now i have checked in my system, i am able to start and stop the services.
