Just after some views on how people configure SQL Server with or without AV.
Recently we have discovered that even with the exclusions in place on all the data/log drives & file types that the AV on our system was inface scanning all data that was in transit so to speak. As a result we were seeing some rather unpleasent performance issues.
We have now removed the nice little AV system and performance has come back, however we now need to go and try to get this configuration past PCI-DSS which should be fun.
As I mentioned I am just after some ideas on how other people deal with this.
Cheers

Our AV program is set to exclude the data drives and only scans out-bound files. Haven't had any performance issues.

We set the same exclusions, however it looked like the AV was actually scanning the network traffic that was comming into the SQL Server exe. Rather frustrating.
