Hi everyone
I am in the process of setting up mirroring with a witness server as a HA environment for our production SQL Server 2008 Standard install. Is there a recommended max no of DBs which are set up to mirror? we have around 50 DBs on this box which are approx 1Gb in size. I am sure i've read somewhere the recommended best practice limit is to mirror up to 10 DBs?
The alternative is I use log shipping if 50 is above the recommeded max mirror no.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

If you are on 64 bit, you should be ok mirroring 50 databases. The limit we found on 32 bit was around 40.

One of the factors to consider is the activity on the databases.
If many are infrequently used, you should be okay. If they are all heavily used with many users, you may have some issues.
