management studio stripdown

I am looking fore basic software such as management studio that is slim for testing info on local machines.
Just need to run a query, do updates to the db (login using local connection string).
Doing this on databases that exist on a local machine.
Is there such a tool?

I carry LinqPad[/url] around on a flash drive for occasions when i sit at a machine without SSMS;
it's portable and has the ability to do object explorer equivilents as well as basic queries:

sometimes a screenshot is worth a thousand words.
Kinda shows you up front whether it's worth your time or not; I use it a lot, and it was invaluable the last consulting gig I went to; noone had SSMS anywhere in their shop, and It was awesome having a decent tool to work with.
