Displaying Maps (like MapPoint) in 2008 Reports

  • Sorry, but I'm a relative noob when it comes to Reporting Services. I've searched around for articles on integrating MapPoint or Bing into SQL Server, but so far no joy.

I am working on a database that will map repairs that need to be performed on flood-damaged houses. I can filter the repairs without a problem. The one thing I can't figure out or find any information on is MapPoint or Bing. What a wanted to do (if possible) was to have maybe separate layers on top of a (street) map, with each layer showing different types of repairs or sequences of repairs. (so a layer would represent either a specific repair or a "day" of repairs.)

I wanted to have the user specify a fixed point and a radius and find and map all repairs inside that circle, and then show all the addresses in a simple report with a map above it with pins for each location.

Any idea where to find how to do that?

    Thanks!

    Pieter

  • Wow, I got my own village!

Silly me... forgot one of the tenets of good newsgroup postings... like "Did you search that big site that MicroSomething has about their stuff? like ee240845.aspx? "Maps (Report Builder 3.0 and SSRS). Okay, now that my eyes are open a little, I'll go try it out and see what happens.
