In my maitenance plan for back up, I have a step to delete the history backups. We have a drive with a backup folder just used for backup files.
So in the maitenance plan when I chose the clean up history files, in the extension field, if I want to delete all the files in the G:\backup folders which are older than two weeks. What extension can I put to the extension field. Should I put * or *.*
I want to include all the file extensions in the folder which include .bak, .trn, .diff.
Thanks

I think you will need a cleanup step for each individual extension. And don't include the "dot" ..... use TRN, not .TRN
Also, be sure you are on at least SP3 to avoid earlier bugs.

I have seen many times that maintenance plans do not completely delete files or throws error. so i would suggest you to write a seperate job may be using vbscript or powershell to delete old backup files.
