Determine who restarted SQL Server?

  • Hi, in my SQL server error log I see that SQL Server has been stopped and restarted:

SQL Server is terminating in response to a 'stop' request from Service Control Manager. This is an informational message only. No user action is required.

How can I determine who did this? I don't see any thing in eventvwr security relating to a user (apart from logoff notifications).

I am running SQL Server 2008 Ent on Win2K8.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Isn't it possible it was a self restart?
