I had sql server 2000 lite speed full back ups. I had to restore SQL Server 2000 Lite speed full backups on sql server 2008 r2 . I had lite speed set up on sql server 2008 r2 Servers. I had restored lite speed full backups of sql server 2000 databases on SQL Server 2008 r2 . I had restored them in with recovery mode on the sql server 2008 r2. SO the users can make changes. I had changed the compatibility mode from 80 to 100 on sql server 2008 r2 . Now can i use lite speed differential backups of sql server 2000 databases on sql server 2008 r2 databases which have a compatibility mode of 100.I know that would not work on native sql back ups. But i want to check for lite speed. as far as i know it is not going to work on lite speed backups also. Please advise. The databases are in single user mode on sql server 2008 r2.

regardless of the utility, once you restore the database 'WITH RECOVERY' no further backups may be applied!
