I've been using SQL Server 2005, and have just upgraded to 2008.
I want to create a full text catalog. To do this you should click on storage. Like this:
But there is no storage folder visible in my browser. There's nothing between Service Broker and Security. Any ideas what's wrong?
Storage was perfectly visible in 2005.

What edition of SQL Server are you using? (Standard/Workgroup/Enterprise)?

Ah..that's where the problem is. SQL Server Express does not support management of Full-text objects by default. You need the SQL Server Express Advanced Series for using Full-text support.

Here's where you can get that: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=B5D1B8C3-FDA5-4508-B0D0-1311D670E336&displaylang=en

Sorry, I misspoke. It IS Express with advanced features that I installed. And I certainly selected Full Text as a feature to install.
Anyway, full test isn't the only thing in the storage folder, correct? so the folder should be visible, even if full text isn't installed, right?

I have an instance of Express Edition and Express Edition with Advanced Services installed and both have the Storage folder. So that isn't it. I would try reinstalling. You also may need to install the Service Packs.
