I have an active passive win 2003 sql 2005 cluster. We are catching up with windows patches. We applied the patches to the passive node and I get the following error message on this node after the patch
.NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_64) - Failed to compile: Microsoft.SqlServer.SQLTaskConnectionsWrap, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91 . Error code = 0x80070002
Neither the 32 bit or the 64 bit .net Runtime optimization service is running on either node. Will this error effect anything if I do the active node next? I am not running SSRS on the node, but I am running SSIS.

I would recommend you to repair the .NET Framework in add remove programs and also apply the latest service pack for SQL Server (If SQL 2005 then install SP4) and reboot the box and this should resolve the problem.
Also let me know if there is any server sertificate installed on the box.
