On SQL2: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Shared\sqlwriter.exe and
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Shared\sqlwvss.dll will not delete iI receive the following: Cannot Delete Access Denied. Make sure that the disk is not full or write-protect and the file is not currently in use. When I try to connect to SSMS (not sure why it's still there) I get the following: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: -1).
In Services I can SQL Serve (SQL1)has not been started, the same goes with SQL Server Agent, Full Text Search. The following SQL services are running: Browser and VSS writer. I am confused. Why didn't all of SQL Server get deleted?

Sounds like the service is still running. Check that. If so turn it off. Sounds like something did not get removed all the way.

Looks like you are correct. I also had a problem with deleting sbevent.rll, so I rebooted SQL2 and hopefully the sbevent.rll will go away.
Thank you for your help:-D
