backup getting stuck SQL server 2005 -- MSSEARCH wait type

    Hi,

    My backup job seems to have stopped working, when I look at the Activty monitor. the wait type = MSSearch.

    The only way I can enable it to work is if I go to Cluster administrator and dissable full text index.

    I assume the full text index for some of my database are corupt.

    Is there a way to query out a list of database with corupt full text index catalog?

    I am not sure if you can find corrupted catalog throught the SQL query, but if there is any corrupted full text catalog you will get errors in Application Log.

    Have you put any thought in to rebuilding the Full-text catalog(s) prior to the backup job? It isn't a bad maintenance addendum to rebuild Full-text catalogs once a month or so.
