Hi experts,
I have installed 2008 R2 RTM 64 bit and now want to apply SP1.
Is there a *different* SP1 install file for R2?
The one I found on Microsoft's download site is:
SQLServer2008SP1-KB968369-x64-ENU.exe
Please advise.
Thanks, John

I don't think they've had a service pack for R2 yet. I could be wrong, but I don't think it's applicable.

If you look on the download page at Microsoft, you will see that this is version 10.00.2531.00. Since R2 RTM is 10.50.1600.1, it's not applicable.

Thanks Gsquared and Gsquared!
This is what I have: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (RTM) - 10.50.1600.1 (X64)
No SPs out yet for R2 - you really helped me - I was about to screw my installation up by installing SP1 but the install file is apparently not for R2.

Currently no service pack exist for 2008 R2. A couple of cumulative updates has been released so far.
Have a look at the build list below.

I doubt that the 2008 SP1 would install on 2008 R2.
