Hello,
I`m facing problem with database backup.
I have created backup on server than packed it with rar and downloaded into my local PC.
While restoring it instead of name there is "*** INCOMPLETE ***". During recovery there is error "3266".
bak file size is about 15GB.
MD5 is the same on server and my local PC after uncompressing.
Command "RESTORE VERIFYONLY" on server was successful and on PC there was error
"Msg 3242, Level 16, State 2, Line 1
The file on device '....bak' is not a valid Microsoft Tape Format backup set.
Msg 3013, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
VERIFY DATABASE is terminating abnormally."
Do you have any idea what can be wrong?... or how to restore this database on my PC?

looks like the backup file got corrupted while zipping it or while transferring to ur machine over the network.
can u try repeating the process.

It is second backup and still the same.
Is it possible that MD5 sums are the same if file was corrupted during compression or transfer?

can you zip the backup file on server, unzip it to a different location on the server itself and run restore verifyonly? If this is success, it will rule out possibility that zip/unzip is causing problems.
