BIDS is a tool, it isn't a way to find a job. No one advertises or asks for someone that has skills in BIDS. Anyone asking for skills would be looking for Reporting Services or Analysis Services.
You don't need a DBA to get a job or learn any of those areas. Pick up a book or read articles on those topics to get started.

Here are your options:
Enroll for SQL Server Analysis / Reporting Services Training
Get your hands dirty with SQL Server / Analysis type tasks either for your current employer or by working on those type of projects on your own
Update your resume with the tasks or roles you have been peforming
Interview for the job
Do you have to learn programming?
No, but you may have to do some custom programming or scripting in your role. That doesn't mean that you have to get into the computer programming career path.
Do you have to become a SQL Server DBA?
No, but you may have to do some work that may be delegated to a DBA sometimes. You may have to write a stored procedure for example or backup the database you are working with. That doesn't mean that you have to learn everything that a DBa does.
Just learn what you need to get the job done!
