I am tryign to access .BAK files from a network location and i am gettign Access Denied Error, wiered thing is i CAN access other files in the same location but not this particulat file, any reason?
Msg 50005, Level 18, State 1, Line 0
Access is denied.
LiteSpeed for SQL Server could not open the Backup file: (\\OBBEAVER\OBProd\Full\Rev_PA.bak).
The previous system message is the reason for the failure.

Depends on the version of LITESPEED that you are using, or it’s a native backup.
We upgraded to the latest version of litespeed to solve it the last time we saw it.

Add the service account of the SQL Server DB Engine to the network share where the backup is located. Grant the access rights to the account. Try recover then. You will succeed.
