  Upgrading to 64bit Sql 2005 Enterprise. I want to restore msdb from backup after the upgrade to restore all of my jobs and maintenance plans. This is ONLY possible if sql is returned to the same patch level as now 9.0.0.4262 Do you know if I have to apply SP3 to the fresh OEM install of sql server first, before applying the 4262 patch??

  I know there are further patches since 4262 which our systems guys can apply later.

  Best practice is to install SP3, then update 4062. This is especially true as 4062 is NOT a Cumulative update.
