Hi,
I have service broker working between two SQL2005 servers.
I want to upgrade to SQL2008.
I would like to upgrade my target server first, but my initial tests have stumbled at the first hurdle.
When I try to create the certificate for Endpoint authentication from a backup of the initiators certificate I get this error:
Msg 15208, Level 16, State 1, Line 2
The certificate, asymmetric key, or private key file does not exist or has invalid format.
I need to create the certificate on the target server, so I may generate a login using that certificate for authentication.
Without this I can't see how I can get SB working between 2005 and 2008.

Hi,
I have managed to resolve my issue.
SQL 2008 hides filename extensions by default.
Adding the .cer extension to the filename got me past the first hurle, I'll update this post with the results of my test.
