hi guys, i just enabled my replication alert for agent retry and agent failure, is there a way to test this in a production environment? i don't to remove any rows to trigger the alert, can i just insert a row into the msdb..sysreplicationalerts with alert_error_code= 14151 table?

I wouldn't recommend "testing" this in your production environment - test it out in any other environment (dev or test environments) to ensure that the alerts have been configured properly and setup the alerts in the same way on production...
What we normally do is setup replication for a sample database (say something like AdventureWorks or a custom DB built with some specific data distribution to simulate our high activity tables) across a couple of desktops and try out everything there...
