While working on Policy based managements, I found an option unknown in the authentication mode.
I have heard windows/mixed and sql server authentication. Whats this unknown authentication type. Any thoughts from experts.

AFAIK, there is no other method. Perhaps its' an error? Can you give more details about what you mean about finding a new mode? Where? What context?

(I guess your question was already answered on MSDN forums, I thought it would be cool to share them with SSC readers! 🙂 )

It's not a bug. Sometimes, if the authentication mode is goofed up (it's just a configuration in the registry) by the sys admin people.
Your sql server won't be part of all the three modes of authentication.
This option is used to find the same.
Thanks to all for your precious time. By next week, I will write a detailed article in my blog.
