I've been using SQL for years as a developer but my new job has me delving even deeper into some serious stored procedures and so forth. It's a lot of fun, but I know there's soooooooo much I don't know. I thought one of the first things that might be helpful is to learn how to read/use the information presented in an execution plan. I've explore the execution plans and seen what information is presented as I hover over certain steps (although I'm not sure how to use it) and I understand that the size of the arrows means how much data is being transferred but beyond that I'm a bit lost. Can you give me any suggestions for a source (preferably online if possible) where I can get a clue how to comprehend this info?
Thanks!

You can download a great free E-Book by one of the forum posters on this site, Grant Fritchey. Check it out HERE.
A shameless plug for a great free resource. 🙂
