Tool Tips are supported in 2005, see http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlreportingservices/thread/2c522301-8816-42da-8dd9-4af164be45d2 for confirmation, look for the ToolTip field in the properties window. (you will probably have to select your data element first)
Hope that helps,
Jon

Tooltips automatically display for a short time when you put your mouse over something, but they are designed to then disappear after your mouse has stayed over it for a while.
If you need labels that stay in place for as long as the user has the mouse over the item, you don't want to use tooltips, you want something else.

HI,
sank, You dnt need to create a tooltip to show for some time based on mouseover action, its already avilable to use in SSRS, u need to use the properties of text box and use the feild or text what you want to show in hte tooltip.
Steps to add a tooltip for the textbox:
1:Goto textbox properties .
2:U can see the tooltip on the properties below the feild value.
3:If u want to use the "text" enter the text whic you want to show.
4:If you want to use the datafeild click on the "fx" and use the feild from dataset.
Ignore this if you are not going to add textbox to the chart area.
Thanks,
Veeren. 🙂

Hi,
Just select chart and press ctrl+f4 key(properties window appear). scroll down to last, u ll see Tool tip property.. provide it with your data field.so that u can see that tool tip when u deployed.. FYI ...Tool tips are not visible in preview..

Gayathri 🙂
