Hey all,
First off, sorry for posting a 2000 question in a 2005 board, but the 2000 admin board seems rather dead these days.
Anyways, I am ashamed that I'm even asking this, but how do you remove a Desktop instance? There is nothing in add/remove, and when trying to run through the installer I do not have the ability to remove. I've seen a few pages showing how to manually remove via registry removals and such, but I have to think there is a cleaner way to do this?
Unsure if it matters, but the servers are running 2003 and there is another instance of SQL 2000 (Standard) running on each. I just want to get rid of these old MSDE instances which appear to have been installed as part of a Symantec backup product install (instances are called "BKUPEXEC").
Thanks in advance

Well, the removal of the symantec product also removed the instance, so I'm good to go.
