AntiVirus recommendations

  • Hi,

Has anybody got any recommendations for AV software that supports Windows 2003 x64 clusters running SQL server 2005 ?

    Cheers

  • There are lots of big names. If I were you, I'd google it and compare prices, options, and hardware requirements.

  • We use McAfee and have a pretty intense system and haven't had any issues with it. The Win admins actually administer it - we just tell them what to exclude...

  • Whisper brings up a good point. Any anti-v solution you use will need to exclude your data and transaction files. If it doesn't, it'll bring your server to its proverbial knees. Especially if you have a high transaction environment.

  • Thanks for the responses chaps.

I'll have a look around, starting with McAfee. We currently use Sophos in our environment, which for some reason or another doesn't support active-active clusters, hence why I'm looking for at a different solution.

    Cheers
