Hi,
I am using a culinary software that uses SQL Server Database 2005 for its database. My software is single user. Recently my computer was crushed while my culinary software was on. I rescued computer and software and I copied my database. However, I cannot open my software because it still think that somebody logged in software and it thinks that I am a different user ( because the last data was saved on database). I think I need to open my database table and delete the last login information. Would you please help me with this issue? My data base is DATAdir.mdf
Thank you,

Hi Turkan,
Are you using third party software? If so i would contact the manufacturer. It sounds like the issue is with the software and not the DB. I mean if your computer crashed, you rebuilt it and I am assuming rebooted the machine I don't think a user could still be logged into SQL Server. It sounds like the culinary software has a file that stores a value that a user is on the db..although that sounds pretty weird. Am I right about it being 3rd party or is this software something you wrote or maintain?

Hi Rookie,
Thanks so much for your respond. It's true. I am using a third party software that is single user version. When I install software on my computer it also installs its own SQL database software( it asked me if I want to install my own database software. However, even though I chose that option it didn't allowed me to install my own one, it automatically goes to its database software.
Now when I open my software it says that this software is for one user only. Program has a maintenance option that supposed to solve problem. However it doesn't.( it used to unlock when my shut down my computer while software was on. But this time it doesn't.) What happened is that when computer was crushed we reinstall windows XP. I think that just ruined everything. To solve the problem software company wants me to buy one year support program. ( Their support program is terrible. You pay but, you never can reach a support person when you need it) They always have some kind of excuse, actually they never answer the phone after they sold program) I only have problem once in a while. Last two years I've been using that and this is the first time I've had this problem.
All the Best,
Turkan

That sounds like it is a pretty bad deal and I sympathize with you. If you've been using it for a couple years you prolly have alot of data. Someone here with more experience may be able to suggest an alternative for you. Personally I would find another solution and not give the company any more of my money.
