OPENROWSET Command Error

    Hi,

    In OPENROWSET commands I getting Message ' SQL Server blocked access to STATEMENT 'OpenRowset/OpenDatasource' of component 'Ad Hoc Distributed Queries' because this component is turned off as part of the security configuration for this server. A system administrator can enable the use of 'Ad Hoc Distributed Queries' by using sp_configure. For more information about enabling 'Ad Hoc Distributed Queries', see "Surface Area Configuration" in SQL Server Books Online.'

    How can I Fix it in SQL2000?

    This article should assist you in identifying the registry setting, as well as guiding you as to how to modify it.

    If you are not familiar with how to modify registry setting and the precautions you should undertake before doing so, find some one who is and let them advise you in great detail.

    If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.
