Attach compressed db

    Hi,

    I tried to attach a SQL database ported from another system using the SQL Server Express and get this message:

    An exception occurred while executing a Transact_SQL statement or batch.

    The "D:\xxxxx\xxxxx.mdf" is compressed but does not reside in a read-only database or filegroup. The file must be decompressed.

    Could not open new database 'sze_xxxxx'. CREATE DATABASE is aborted. (Microsoft SQL Server, Errpor: 5118)

    Can anyone help?

    Your database files are in a compressed folder/drive. Uncompress the folder and it should be fine.
