Dear all, I need to migrate SQL Server and Windows logins (more than 300) with passwords from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2008.
Microsoft provides stored procedures to migrate from 7 to 2K and/or from 7 or 2K to 2005.
I am not able to find any procedures to migrate from 2K to 2008.
Any idea?
Please advise.

Hi,

I used the MS solution for 2000 to 2005 in this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/246133 to migrate logins from 2000 to 2008 and it worked really well.

Give it a try in a dev environment! 😀

transferring logins to SQL Server 2008 uses the same script that you have for 7\2000 to 2005
