Has anyone successfully installed SQL Server 2008 on Server 2008 R2 (RC)? I'm getting stuck at the Instance Configuration screen, i get an error when trying to detect the SQL Server Network Name, here is the error:
The given network name is unusable because there was a failure trying to determine if the network name is valid for use by the clustered SQL instance due to the following error: 'The network address is invalid.'
I've setup a 2008 SQL Failover Cluster in Server 2008 SP1 without a problem.

I didn't. After spending way too much time trying to get it to work I had to go back to Server 2008. I'm assuming they will resolve this when Server 2008 R2 is RTM. Nothing we can really do until it's released.
Everything is working great on Server 2008, I have a SQL 2008 SP1 cluster up and running. I think I ended up installing SQL 2008 and installing SP1 after to test the update rollover process in the cluster. If you have any questions about SQL 2008 Cluster hit me up.
If your doing testing in VMWare, Starwind iSCSI Target works great for providing shared storage between nodes. Just set it up on it's own "Storage" VM and connect the nodes to it via the built in iSCSI Initiator. And it's free!

I got a SQL 2008 (SP1 slipstream) cluster setup on 2008 R2 finally. Were you ever able to get this working?

I am having the same problem today and found numerous articles on the internet that point to the VMWare tools. Once these are removed this issue goes away. Try the same search with VMWare in the search.
