In 2005, exporting Matrix to csv worked. In 2008, I am losing the pivot. I have modified the reportserver config file to specify unicode encoding.
Any ideas?

The result set returned by the stored proc looks like this
Project PivotHeader PivotValue
1 ProjectMgr John
2 ProjectMgr Paul
I have an rdl with a Matrix control that Pivots the data like this:
Project ProjectMgr
1 John
2 Paul
If I export the report to Excel it maintains the pivoted rows
But if I export to csv or txt, it loses the pivot and displays the data like the stored proc

Thanks for you information,
Go to your matrix properties, thenin the data element output change the auto as no output and try to export the data in to csv or txt.

Well, changing the output to No Output just keeps data from being exported. I have found various posts on the Microsoft Forum sites that indicate the change is "as designed" for how Matrix tablixes (is that a word?) are exported to CSV format as opposed to 2005. Among the suggestions is to convert the report to a table or to take the Excel version and save it to CSV format to preserve the matrix/pivot output. In my own case neither are acceptable solutions for reasons I won't bore anyone with here.
