Unable to connect to SSAS 2005 using SSMS.
A connection cannot be made to redirector. Ensure that 'SQL Browser' service is running. (Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient)
------------------------------
No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
I tried re-installed SQL 2005 itself but still the same error message.
Appreciate your help.

Are you trying to access SSAS locally?
If this is the case be sure both Browser Service and SSAS Service are set to login as "Local System" account.

I was trying something to make this work. I did open Surface Area Configuration to check the remote connections.
When i click the "Remote Connections" i am getting the error message as below.
---------------------------------------
TITLE: Surface Area Configuration
------------------------------
To configure Analysis Service remote connections, you must be an administrator for the Analysis Services Windows service. (SQLSAC)
------------------------------
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
A connection cannot be made to redirector. Ensure that 'SQL Browser' service is running. (Microsoft.AnalysisServices)
------------------------------
No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
I am the administrator for the local machine and how to check what account it uses to run "SQLSAC". Also my SSAS instance name is "CON1". I dont see a process named "MSSQLSERVEROLAPService$CON1 under Services. Instead i see the services with name "SQL Server Analysis Services (CON1)". Is this okay or i am missing anything? Please help me out.
