SQL 2008 Standard for Small Business on Server 2008

  • I have bought SQL 2008 Standard for Small Business and hoped to install it on to a 2008 Server. However, it appears this does not work, you require Server 2008 Small Business. I assumed that the term small business was consistent with Microsoft terminology, Small business meaning a slimed downed version for a few users.

Does anyone know if there is a way round this with Server 2008 Standard?

    Thanks

  • Difference between Server 2008 and 2008 Small Business is in what services are installed and/or started by default. It is possible to bring Server 2008 to Small Business standard manually: search TechNet. If it fails, ping me via a parivate message - the list of services and install instructions are too long for posting oin a discussion forum.
