Question regarding upgrading to SQL Server 2008 Enterprise from Developers Edition.

  • I am considering an upgrade to my server.

At the moment i am running SQL Server 2008 Developers Edition on Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition.

I want to move to SQL Server 2008 Enterprise Edition on Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition R2.

Question - My current 'C' drive RAID1 is only 73GB and Enterprise seems to use a LOT of disk space.

Should i do extend the partition on the 'C' drive and do an upgrade to the new o/s and DB or should i scrap what i have and start again?

Is it even a good idea to extend the 'C' drive partition?

    Thanks

  • Developer and Enterprise are the same, just the licensing details differ.
